Walkabout in my backyard on the last day of spring with a Nikon D3 camera and 200 mm f/2 telephoto lens with a 2x TC-E II teleconverter. Rabbits, dragonflies, fruits, flowers, and wildflowers.
Some quick images in black & white. A few with a bit of color. All taken a the Boulder Marriott Residence Inn while cooking a steak on the outdoor grill.
Walkabout in an urban farm & garden in St. Petersburg, Florida. After below normal rain at the beginning of the year, they are now in the daily monsoon season — with heavy thunderstorms and rain every afternoon. My troll got a chance to get out and sit on a large mushroom. The red chicken manages the location, as well as providing an egg every morning.
For my backyard walkabout today I used a Leica T camera with a wide-angle 11-23 mm zoom lens. I was pleased that I could focus this lens at relatively close distances. This first image is of a yellow California poppy flower. The first of these that I was fully open this season. These flowers close at night, and when cold — so I was glad to see it open this morning. You can read between the lines that I was happy that the sun was out this morning. Many more images of red and pink poppies. I planted four tomato seedlings. We will see if they make it this year. Progress is being made with the home renovation — the first section of the copper gutter was installed, and the first stone step to the patio was installed.
Walkabout in my wildflower garden with a Fuji X-T2 camera and 90 mm f/2 lens. Lots of red poppies, some large and some small. One series at different apertures (including a close-up crop). Still only one blue bachelor button (cornflower) blooming.
