German Chocolate, Strawberries, and Hot Peppers. The Strawberries were grown in my indoor AeroGarden hydroponic farm. Also the flowers (Dianthus, Snapdragon, Coreopsis, Zinnia) are growing in the hydroponic farm. The Red Poppy flower didn’t quite open in time.

Daily Electric Energy Used (77.4 kWh) from Sense Home Energy Monitor and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (45.5 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Lots of sun, but much colder outside. A deficit of 31.9 kWh.
I harvested the first of the indoor hydroponic strawberries today. Before tasting them I took this focus stacked image with some German chocolate.
Daily Electric Energy Used (99.5 kWh) from Sense and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (27.3 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Rained much of the day. Overall a net deficit of 72.2 kWh.
My Drobo disk-array is rebuilding after adding a new drive. Don’t know how long it will take. New images (including a meteor caught last night with two cameras) to follow. The down side to large storage solutions such as Drobo is the time required for backup and restore. Not sure if this will be hours or days!!!!
Check out my post from two years ago today outside of Ghirardelli’s “The Original Chocolate Shop” at night in San Francisco: 20-October-2009
Ghirardelli’s “The Original Chocolate Shop” at night in San Francisco. A must stop for chocoholic’s near Fisherman’s Warf. The image was taken on 20-October-2009 with a D3x and 16 mm fisheye lens (f/2.8, ISO 1250, 1/60 sec). The image was processed using Capture One Pro 5 and Photoshop CS5 using the Topaz Denoise 5 and Focus Magic filters, and then conversion for web and sRGB using Photoshop CS5. The Topaz Denoise 5 (medium RAW setting) filter did a much better job removing noise from the image than other software. If you look closely, you can see the photographer’s reflection looking over the pumpkin in the window.
