Outdoor flowers of the day. Fancy Daffodils, Tulip, Common Meadow Violet, Grape Hyacinth, Snapdragon, and Calendula. The Tulip is the first to bloom this year. The Snapdragon and Calendula are from the indoor Hydroponic Farm. The roots are too big to remove from the tray.

Pink Poppy (Papaver rhoeas). Red Turkish Tulip Poppy (Papaver glaucum). Yellow Calendula (Calendula officinalis) — common name Pot Marigold. Red Celosia and Snapdragon. The Snapdragon flower stalks are too tall for the 24″ AeroGarden Farm.

Indoor hydroponic flowers of the day. White, yellow, and orange Iceland Poppy (Papaver nudicaule). White, yellow, orange, and pink California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica). Pink Poppy (Papaver rhoeas). Yellow Calendula (Calendula officinalis) — common name Pot Marigold. Red Celosia and Snapdragon. The Snapdragon flower stalks are too tall for the 24″ AeroGarden Farm. I may try to swap them to a larger 36″ AeroGarden Farm that currently has some smaller tomato plants. I also did a series of B&W flower images using a Leica Q2 monochrome camera. Time-lapse video of an orange California Poppy (after it finally opened).

Weekly Indoor Hydroponic Updates. Bounty-01 (Day 41). Bok Choi is ready to harvest. I will chop them up and store them vacuum packed in the freezer. Bounty-02 (Day 76) Thai and Genovese Basil doing well. Lettuce getting scraggly. Will probably harvest everything soon. Bounty-03 (Day 68). Dill and Genovese Basil doing well. The Italian and Curly Parsley starting to get bigger. Bounty-04 (Day 41): Various Basil. A1: Dark Opal; A2: Cinnamon; A3: Genovese; B1: Holy; B2: Italian Large Leaf; B3: Lemon; B4: Lime; C1: Sweet; C2: Thai.

AeroGarden Farm-10L (Day 68). California Poppy, Oriental Poppy, Lauren’s Grape Poppy. The odd plant is Celosia. More California Poppy flowers have opened. Now a mix of white, light yellow and red, and orange. AeroGarden Farm-10R (Day 68). Hungarian Bread Seed Poppy, Red Poppy, Turkish Tulip Poppy. One of the Turkish Tulip Poppy flowers bloomed. AeroGarden Farm-11 (Day 68). Somn Blend Poppy, Red Poppy Red Poppy, Red Mix Poppy. One of the Mixed Red Poppy plants has produced its first Pink Poppy Flower. The last time I tried Red Poppies indoors in a hydroponic garden it took 124 days before they started to bloom.

Valentine’s Day Special

German Chocolate, Strawberries, and Hot Peppers. The Strawberries were grown in my indoor AeroGarden hydroponic farm. Also the flowers (Dianthus, Snapdragon, Coreopsis, Zinnia) are growing in the hydroponic farm. The Red Poppy flower didn’t quite open in time.

Wintertime Indoor Hydroponic Gardening

Weekly AeroGarden hydroponic farm update. Harvested a few more small Yellow Tomatoes, Bok Choi, Dill, and several Strawberries. All of the auxiliary water bottles needed to be refilled.

AeroGarden Farm 01-Left. Tomato plants at 144 days. Manually pollinating the tiny yellow flowers, several tiny green tomatoes forming. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 4.50 and the TDS was 673 ppm. Added 16 mL of Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL of buffer up.

AeroGarden Farm 01-Right. Various “edible” flowers (Dianthus, Snapdragon, Marigold, Calendula) at 144 days. Trimmed and pruned the dead flowers and leaves. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 4.68 and TDS was 435 ppm. Added 16 mL Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL buffer up pH adjustment.

AeroGarden Farm 02-Left. Pepper plants at 143 days. The pepper plants are getting bigger, and a few flowers. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 5.23 and the TDS was 222 ppm. Added 40 mL of Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL buffer up solution.

AeroGarden Farm 03-Left. Pepper and Basil plants at 143 days. The plants are getting bigger with more flowers but no peppers yet. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 5.16 and the TDS was 984 ppm. No Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL buffer up solution added.

AeroGarden Farm 05-Left. Flowers – Snapdragon, Celosia, Coreopsis, Dianthus, Gazania, and Poppy at 95 days. Dianthus and Coreopsis flowers opened. Pruned some of the large zucchini leaves from the next tray blocking the plants. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 4.87 and TDS was 714 ppm. Added no Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 2 mL of buffer up solution.

AeroGarden Farm 05-Right. Zucchini and other vegetables at 95 days. The zucchini plants continue to flower (although only male flowers) so no new Zucchini have set. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 5.10 and the TDS was 305 ppm. Added 24 mL of Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL of buffer up solution.

AeroGarden Farm 06-Left: Ground Cherries (all 12 positions). At 28 days 9/12 sprouted some growing faster than others. Moved some of the plants to other Hydroponic Gardens so the four remaining ones have room to expand. No additional water needed. The pH was 5.53 and TDS was 337 ppm. Added 16 mL of Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and no buffer up solution.

The pH was 5.25 and TDS was 613 ppm. Added 16 mL of Miracle Grow/AeroGarden plant food and 1 mL of buffer up solution.

AeroGarden Farm 07-Left. Strawberry plants at 122 days. Some leaves turning brown/black, harvested several strawberries. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 4.82 and TDS was 636 ppm. Added 16 mL of Root Farm Base solution, 16 mL of Root Farm Flower and Fruit solution, and 4 mL of buffer up.

AeroGarden Farm 07-Right. Strawberry plants at 122 days. Some leaves turning brown/black, harvested several strawberries. After topping off with DI water, the pH was 4.59 and TDS was 439 ppm.
