Gone to See America 2013. Nikonian Annual Photography Adventure Trip. Day 3: Sedona to Williams, Arizona.

Road trip day as the group moved from Sedona to Williams, Arizona.  I drove myself since I had my vehicle. Most of the others traveled in the four rented vans. I set up my Nikon 1 V1 camera and 10 mm f/2.8 lens on a tripod strapped down on the passenger seat to record a time-lapse video of the drive.

Gone to See America 2006 Driving Tour. Day 11:  Lake Chelan, Washington.

Female Mallard Duck on Lake Chelan in Washington from rear deck of the Lady of the Lake Ferry. Image taken with a Nikon D200 camera and 80-400 mm VR lens (ISO 400, 400 mm, f/9, 1/320 sec). I took this image with my first DSLR while driving across the country back in 2006. I really like the catch light in the eye, and the ripples and reflections. This image is one of the reasons that I decided to spend more time with photography.

News Item: Indian Sindhurakshak Submarine

It was reported on the news this morning that the Indian Sindhurakshak submarine that I photographed in Tromsø (09-Feb-2013) experienced two explosions a fire, and sank while docked in Mumbai last night.

Indian Navy Diesel-Electric Submarine INS  #Sindhurakshak   Docked Next to the Hurtigruten MS Finnmarken in Tromsø. The 16-year-old Russian built submarine was returning from a 2 year upgrade in Russia. This was the first time that I saw a submarine with glass windows in the conning tower. Composite of 3 images taken with a Nikon 1 V2 camera and 18.5 mm f/1.8 lens (ISO 800, 18.5 mm, f/1.8, 1/30 sec) combined using AutoPano Giga Pro.
