Rope Fence Protecting Poulnabrone Dolmen, a Portal Tomb in County Claire. The tomb is at least 5000 years old. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V1 camera and 30-110 mm lens (ISO 200, 30 mm, f/5.6, 1/320 sec).
Field Trip to visit the Cliffs of Moher. The lamb stew and Guinness made for a great lunch.
After arriving at Haines, Alaska we disembarked from the MV Columbia. I could have slept in the RV, but decided to splurge and spend the night at the Halsingland Hotel (B&B). They even put benchmarks in the ground to mark the location of hotels in Haines — 118 feet above mean sea level. I set a camera up looking out my window to capture night sky star trails. I also managed to capture Northern Lights which I was not expecting.

Eldred Rock Lighthouse from the deck of the MV Columbia. Alaska Marine Highway passing through the Lynn Canal on the way to Haines. Images taken with a Nikon D3 camera and 50 mm f/1.8 lens, Nikon D3x camera and 24 mm f/1.4 lens, or Nikon D300 and 18-200 mm VR lens. After a lot of fog, it was great that things cleared up while we passed through the Lynn Canal.
