One thing I noticed in Old Havana were the power lines. They don’t have to worry about snow, but do need to worry about hurricanes.

Gone to See Cuba 2011 People to People Cultural Exchange. Day 3 of a Street Photography Workshop led by Steve Simon.
One thing you notice in Havana is that many/most of the taxis are vintage American vehicles imported into Cuba before the revolution. I did a time-lapse video of the traffic out my hotel room window with lots of the classic taxis. The group then went out for a morning photo shoot in three classic convertible taxis. Our local host told us that medical doctors in Cuba make more driving the taxis than they do practicing medicine.

Gone to See Cuba 2011 People to People Cultural Exchange. Day 2 of a Street Photography Workshop led by Steve Simon.
Morning, afternoon, and evening street photography walkabouts in Old Havana. Lots of street vendors and street art. I was surprised to see Christmas trees in Havana. I guess religion didn’t go away.

Gone to See Cuba 2015: Departure.
While departing Cuba on an Eastern Airline flight from Havana International Airport, I noticed a DC-10 parked next to the runway. The plane was missing its engines, and looked like it had been in a fire. I wonder if it is a training prop for emergency drills?
