Four-Years Ago (25-September-2007) — Wyoming

Gone to See America 2007 Road Trip. Nikonians ANPAT 7 Day 4: Yellowstone National Park.

Upon arrival in Jackson, the ANPAT participants were split into four groups, each with their own van (with a volunteer driver and navigator). Each van had ~8 photographers fully loaded with gear. The space in the van was tight, and I felt like I was sitting in a narrow commuter jet. The vans had schedules to go to different locations so as not to get in each other’s way… Our van did a lot of Bison hunting while traveling through Yellowstone National Park. The first image of one of our Bison hunters, and the second a shy Bison trying to hide behind some grass.

Three-Years Ago (19-September-2008) — Utah

Gone to See America 2008. Moab Utah Photography Workshop with Winston Hall. Day 5: Arches National Park.

Time-Lapse Video of a Hike down Park Avenue in Arches National Park. Winston Hall talked me into carrying a tripod on my shoulders so the DSLR camera would be above my head. We set the camera up with a fisheye lens and had it take images every 15 seconds. I used the ~900 images to make a time-lapse video of the hike.

Friday (16-September-2011) — California

Gone to See California — SIRNA Goodby.

While in the San Francisco area I had the opportunity to visit and have dinner with a couple of former colleagues that now live in the Bay Area. In the back yard one of their Yucca plant was blooming. There was a humming bird working the flowers. I never got a picture of the humming bird in the flowers, but did capture a sillouete of it in the some other trees. These images were all taken with a Leica X1 or D-Lux 5 camera.

Thursday (15-September-2011) — California

Gone to See SIRNA — San Francisco.

I was in California to visit my team one final time before the South San Francisco SIRNA site shut down. We went out to lunch at Ambers, an Indian Restaurant. I took a picture of my team in front of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, just outside of the restaurant. I wished everyone luck in their future endeavors.

Two-Years Ago (11-September-2009) — Alaska

Gone to See North America Road Trip. Day 21: Alaska Railroad – Anchorage to Spencer Glacier. (Day 7: Nikonians ANPAT 9).

On our final day, the ANPAT 9 group took the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Spencer Glacier. The images I took with a Nikon D300 camera and 18-200 mm lens were combined into a time-lapse video (about 2.3 minutes in length). Some questions. Do viewers like this format, should I add music, or would a slideshow with just the best 20 images be better?
