Morning Mammals in the yard and garden. Although it rained yesterday and last night, the sky was clear when the sun came up this morning. I took these images from within my living room, while the glass on the windows is still clean.
Harvey the Rabbit. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V2 camera, FT1 adapter, and 80-400 mm VRII lens (ISO 160, 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/20 sec). Note that this is equivalent to 1080 mm on a 35 mm sensor, and was hand-held. Raw image processed with Capture One Pro 8, Focus Magic, and Photoshop CC.
Harvey my backyard Rabbit feeding on some late summer grass. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V2 camera, FT1 adapter and 180 mm f/2.8 D lens (ISO 200, 180 mm, f/2.8, 1/1000 sec). Sepia conversion using Capture One Pro 7.
This is an older prime lens that does not have VR and needed to be manually focused with this camera, but with the lens wide open I was able to shoot at 1/1000 sec. The camera was set to use the electronic shutter so no noise to scare the rabbit. The FOV for this camera lens combination is equivalent to 486 mm with a full frame sensor DSLR.
One of my favorite grab images from 2007. Jumping rabbit caught in mid-air. Image taken with a Nikon D2xs camera and 300 mm f/2.8 VR + TCE-II 14 (ISO 400, 420 mm, f/4, 1/160 sec). Reprocessed, monochrome and one color.
