Backyard Autumn Nighttime Sky Over New Jersey.

Earlier in the evening it didn’t look promising for a clear sky. I checked again after midnight, and did see Orion and some other stars. I set up two cameras same as the previous clear nights to take images for star trails, and if lucky catch a launch of a rocket from Virginia at 04:01. Unfortunately, I only got 15 minutes of clear skies before the clouds rolled back in. I did check again at 04:00 for 5 minutes, but it was still overcast and I didn’t see the launch.

Colorado Autumn Road Trip: Big Horn Ram Huddle.

I spotted several Big Horn Rams along Colorado 14 while driving back to Boulder from Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge. One day later I was on the Big Island of Hawaii attending a workshop run by Thom Hogan.

Thursday (15-November-2018) — New Jersey

Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey.

Before it started snowing, a squirrel figured out how to get up onto the bird feeder and start chowing down on the sunflower seeds. By mid-afternoon the snow started to fall. It came down pretty heavy for a while. During a lull later in the afternoon, the birds came back. A Red-bellied Woodpecker, Tufted-titmouse, and American Goldfinch (winter plumage).
