Extraterrestrial Highway Sign (Nevada 375). For those that are planning on visiting  Area 51 this year. Note, there are not many places to stay in the vicinity so plan on roughing it. Bring plenty of water.

Gone to See America August 2010 Road Trip. Day 6: Eastern Sierra Photography Workshop with Michael Mariant. Bodie State Historic Park.

Images taken on my second visit to Bodie State Park. California maintains the park in a state of arrested decay. The park is a National Historic District, and is known as a wild-west gold mining ghost town. All of the images were converted to monochrome/sepia to fit with the historic nature of the ghost town. The Schoolroom Marm’s hat is a repeat of an image I took in 2008.

Bridge Velo Bicycle Race in Montgomery Township.

The bicycle race passed right by the house this morning. The race starts at the bottom of the hill at the J&J facility and went around the block. Blocks here are pretty big and includes some significant hills (both up and down). I need to use my Elby electric power assisted bicycle to make it up the hill.

Eleven-Years Ago (24-February-2008) — Colorado

Road Scholar “Photography in the Southwest” Workshop Day 0. Mesa Verde National Park.

I wasn’t sure that I would be able to make the trip from Boulder to southwestern Colorado because of a winter storm that passed through during the previous days. The roads were clear, and there were not many vehicles on the road. I made it to Mesa Verde National Park in time to meet my father and brother before attending an Road Scholar/Elderhostel photography workshop. It was still snowing when I arrived at the National Park.
