We separated into four groups, and our group of eight road one of the Park Service buses on the only road into the National Park. We stopped several times since Mount Denali was visible through the clouds. Not as many animals as yesterday.

My final day on the road before attending a scientific meeting in San Francisco. For whatever reason, I didn’t take any pictures while in San Francisco. After the meeting, the camera came back out for the return trip to New Jersey. Images for this post include three from Humboldt-Redwoods State forest and thirteen from along the coast. When reviewing the images again for this post I realized many of the images were not in focus. I obviously wasn’t or didn’t know how to think about composition.

Our third stop on the second day of the Eastern Sierra Photo Workshop at Bodie State Historic park. This is a gold mining ghost town maintained by California in a state of arrested development or decline. There are lots, and lots of folks that visit to photograph the many buildings and artifacts in the park, so you often have to wait to get images free of tourists or other photographers. After a while, I didn’t mind including people in the images to give prospective. This is part two of three sets of images from Bodie.
