Saturday (31-May-2014) – Sweden

Gone to See Europe 2014. Day 0: Stockholm, Sweden.

I arrived in Stockholm a day before embarking on the Semester at Sea Spring Enrichment Voyage. I joined fellow photographer Albert for a walkabout in the city. We came upon a group of musicians performing in a square. The accordion player thought he found his doppelganger… Really, It is not me. Image taken with a Leica X2 camera (ISO 400, 24 mm, f/11, 1/640 sec). Raw image processed with Capture One Pro, Focus Magic, and Photoshop CC.

Seven-Years Ago (28-May-2007) — Colorado

Spring Nature in Colorado.

As I was walking to my car from the Boulder Marriott Residence Inn I saw this brown bird hunting insects. I didn’t recognize it, and had to look it up in my “National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds”. It is a Northern Flicker which is a woodpecker. Image taken with a Nikon D2xs camera and 70-200 mm f/2.8 VR lens (ISO 400, 280 mm, f/4, 1/50 sec).

Northern Gannet Flying Against a Clear Blue Sky. From the deck of the M/V Explorer crossing the North Sea between Dover and Oslo. I don’t know why it is flying with one foot down.
