Some images from my afternoon walkabout in the backyard wildflower meadow.
Two of the Burma water-bottle gourds in my wildflower meadow flowered today. It seems like they open at night when the moon is nearly full. I don’t know if a night moth is needed to fertilize to get one of the gourds. The one planted over a year ago in Florida produced a gourd over 1 meter in length. The image of the flower is behind a nylon mesh that I hope will keep it protected from the deer tonight.
The Monarch butterflies also like the orange marigold flowers in my wildflower meadow. mage taken with a Nikon D4 camera and 80-400 mm VRII telephoto zoom lens (ISO 140, 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/400 sec).
Sheep Out On a Summer Pasture Along a Stream Below the Hvannadalshnjukur Glacier in Southeastern Iceland. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V2 camera and 10 mm f/2.8 lens (ISO 200, 10 mm, f/4, 1/1000 sec). One of many drive-by images I took while sitting in the back of the bus.
