Winter Nature in Colorado. Rocky Mountain National Park.

Winter in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was only an hour drive from Boulder and I would visit whenever I could. The Park Service kept most of the lower roads open throughout the winter.

Gone to See Antarctica 2014/2015. Hurtigruten Christmas Voyage on the MS Fram. Day 20: Beagle Channel on the way to Ushuaia for Debarkation.

Final Dawn aboard the Hurtigruten MS Fram on the Christmas Antarctica voyage. Orange clouds above the Beagle Channel on the way to Ushuaia. Everyone else had been celebrating last night, and I had the upper deck to myself to enjoy the dawn. Image taken with a Leica T camera and 23 mm lens (ISO 100, 23 mm, f/4, 1/125 sec). Six-Years Ago (04-January-2011) — Argentina

Gone to See Patagonia 2010/2011. Photography Workshop with Thom Hogan. Day 9: Perito Moreno Glacier.

After we arrived at Hosteria Los Notros, we walked down to the boardwalk overlooking the Glacier. Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the few glaciers in the world that is advancing rather than retreating. I used a fish-eye lens to get the whole view of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Image taken with a Nikon D3s camera and 16 mm f/2.8 fisheye lens (ISO 200, f/22, 1/125 sec). Last I heard, the Los Notros hotel was closed since it is within the National Park.
