Friday (04-January-2019) — Virginia to New Jersey

Gone to See Florida Road Trip. Day 13: Staunton, Virginia to Skillman, New Jersey.

The drive took a bit longer than expected. Soon after crossing into Pennsylvania traffic came to a stop for over two hours. After getting home I went online and found out that a cattle truck went off the road. Thirteen dead cows and nineteen survived. Data from Landrover InControl: Drive time: 7:51; Distance: 352 miles; Avg Speed: 44.8 mph; Fuel used: 11.0 gal; Avg Fuel Consumption: 32.1 mpg.

Time-lapse video recorded with a Garmin VIRB-360 camera (image every 2 sec). I mounted the camera on the dashboard with power via a USB power outlet. Images processed and video created with Photoshop CC and Premiere Pro CC.

Thursday (03-January-2019) — Georgia to Virginia

Gone to See Florida Road Trip. Day 12: Savannah, Georgia to Staunton, Virginia.

I left the hotel a little before sunrise. It was cold out, but above freezing. The drive was uneventful, most of the time with the cruse control on. The new version of cruse control not only maintains the speed, but also maintains a safe distance from vehicles in front. Data from Landrover InControl: Drive time: 7:44 hours:minutes; Distance: 508 miles; Avg Speed: 65.7 mph; Fuel used: 16.3 gal; Avg Fuel Consumption: 31.1 mpg.

Images processed and video created with Photoshop CC and Premiere Pro CC. The first video is a Little Planet view, the second video is a 360 degree panorama. In order to upload, the video was saved at 480p (720 x 480) at 24 fps.

Wednesday (02-January-2019) — Florida to Georga

Gone to See Florida Road Trip. Day 11: St. Petersburg, Florida to Savannah, Georgia.

I waited until 10:00 to start to avoid rush hour traffic across the bridge and through Tampa. The heads up display shows the posted speed limits (and and car’s sensors supposedly also detects and reads speed limit signs). This is important when driving through the speed traps along US 301 (Starkey, Waldo, and Lawtey). Data from Landrover InControl: Drive time: 2:27 hours:minutes; Distance: 359 miles; Avg Speed: 57 mph; Fuel used: 11.2 gal; Avg Fuel Consumption: 31.1 mpg.

Tuesday (01-January-2019) — Florida

Happy New Years from St. Petersburg.

Fireworks from downtown St. Petersburg. I think the fireworks are shot off from a barge in Vinoy basin. We had to back off to a park near the pool along Tampa bay. Even then I was hit by the paper residue from one of the firework mortars. I set up two cameras to get pictures during the show. First a Nikon D850  camera with a 20 mm f/1.8 lens (ISO 64, 20 mm, f/11, 8 sec). The second a Fuji X-T3 camera and 8-16 mm f/2.8 lens (ISO 200, 10 mm, f/8, 8 sec).
