Backyard Autumn Night Sky in New Jersey: Star and Moon Trails.

Star and moon trails with colored autumn clouds. Composite of many images taken with a Nikon D2xs camera and 17-35 f/2.8 lens (ISO 400, 17 mm, f/3.2, 30 sec). I wish I remembered how I processed this, but there was bokeh and color from the reflected ground lights in the clouds. Time-lapsed video of the sequence also included.

Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey:  Trolls and Mushrooms then Star Trails.

Tipsy Nisse Viking Warior wanabe in the late afternoon sun asking the question “Do I eat the magic mushroom, or watch the election results tonight?” Image taken with a Fuji X-T1 camera and 100-400 mm OIS lens (ISO 320, 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/200 sec).

But one has to ask the question — did he vote? One-year later he woke up wishing that it was all a dream…

Backyard Autumn Nigh Sky in New Jersey: Star, Jet, and Moon Trails.

View looking south. Composite of images taken between 17:30 and 23:58 with a Nikon D810a camera and 14-24 mm f/2.8 lens (ISO 200, 14 mm, f/5.6, 120 sec). I like that the Nikon D810a camera can take images for longer than 30 sec (up to 900 sec) just using the controls on the camera (external trigger/controller not needed). This results in smoother composite star trail images with fewer gaps.
