Passive Computer Processor Cooler: Synology DS3615xs

In order to add more memory to the Synology DS3615xs  high capacity data storage array, I needed to open the system. Following the online directions, I finally was able to open the box — difficult as there were some wires and connections that were tight and hard to get at. I was amazed at the size of the passive cooler on the processor chip. I am assuming the copper pipes have some type of heat conductive fluid to help transfer the heat away from the processor.

Sunday in the Park: Hobler Park in Montgomery Township

The “Sunday in the Park” event with the Montgomery Friends of Open Space was at Hobler Park. It was a clear but cold late autumn morning, with frost on the brush. Images of plants, birds, and an art work installation by Kate Graves.

Indoor Autumn Nature in New Jersey: Mosquito

The only good mosquito is a dead mosquito. I don’t know why I have them inside my house every fall. But I don’t want to be a meal.

House Renovation: Outside Views

I set up the Mindrain Astro motion control head to take 360 degree images of my backyard. The house renovation project is in progress. The roof has been replaced, and the new siding is in progress. The deck is gone and the patio just started. The Astro was programmed to trigger a Fuji X-T1 camera with a Zeiss 12 mm f/2.8  lens periodically as it rotated the camera in a complete circle. The images were then processed into the following time-lapsed videos. Later in the evening I tried night sky sequence (but only rotating the camera 120 degrees.
