Autumn Nature in Pennsylvania & New Jersey.

Colorful dawn from the Lambertville – New Hope bridge over the Delaware River. View from the bridge looking  east toward New Jersey. Back when I still worked at the Merck  facility in West Point Pennsylvania I crossed this bridge every morning very early trying to avoid traffic on Route 206. Image taken with a Nikon D3x and 14-24 mm f/2.8 lens (ISO 100, 14 mm, f/16). HDR composite from 5 images using Nik HDR Efex Pro.

Backyard Vandalism in New Jersey: The Morning After.

A tree in my backyard decorated with toilet paper the previous night, the brand of toilet paper used, and an empty egg container. The police took a report, but never got back to me other than saying it was probably high school kids with nothing better to do the day after Thanksgiving. I guess I was lucky since I had cameras out in the backyard taking night sky images that were not tripped over or stolen.

Gone to See Cuba 2011 People to People Cultural Exchange. Day 6 of a Street Photography Workshop led by Steve Simon.

Glad I went when I did. Waves Crashing Into the Seawall Along the Malecón. Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta and the Havana Harbor Lighthouse in the Distance. Eventually, waves will wash down anything…

Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey.

Turkey Vulture and the Moon. Several hundred turkey vultures spent the night in some local trees. This morning I went out at dawn to get some images as they started to fly away. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the whole wing span as this one flew by the moon.Image taken with a Nikon D3s camera and 300 mm f/2.8 VR lens (ISO 1600, 300 mm, f/2.8, 1/1000 sec).

Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey: Turkey Vulture

Turkey vulture soaring near the moon. I haven’t figured how to get both the moon and bird to be in focus at the same time…
