David Mathre Photography

Welcome to my Images of the Day Photo blog. My goal is to post images from each day of the year going back to 2006 when I got my first DSLR camera. My photographic interest include Travel, the Natural World, Landscapes, and Photographic Techniques. I try to include information for each image as to where, when, why and how the image was processed. Most of the images are available for purchase -- either as prints or rights managed (Clicking on an image brings you to the ShepArt Studio Team Site). Comments about the images or this site are always welcome. DJM

Wow, this is a gorgeous set of old stairs +David Mathre !  I love the fading lines on the steps and the contrast against the red brick, yet the white of the steps blends well with the white in the brick.  Thanks for sharing with +Stairs Thursday !

+Liz MC There are 400+ steps to the top of the church, and the same number down. At least the spiral sections have separate up and down paths. The white lines are to help you see the steps in the dark. It is tight and no hand rails. An experience.

Wow, that is quite an experience, and I'm sure your legs thank you for that!  We walked to the top of St Paul's Cathedral in London and it has 300+ if I remember right.  That's quaint with the lines to help you see.  Thanks for that info +David Mathre !
