On my last morning before heading back home I stopped at Playalinda beach. A couple of folks were out fishing at sunrise when this tern flew past the sun.
When I woke up, there were more clouds than yesterday. I set the two cameras up again, and this time rewarded with some colors and a pillar of light at sunrise. The solar pillar or column is sunlight being reflected from thin ice crystal plates. Time-lapse videos and some panorama images.
Time-Lapse Video of Dawn and Sunset Panorama at Sunset. Both were done with a Fuji X-T2 camera and 16 mm f/1.4 lens. I also did dawn through sunrise with a Garmin VIRB-360 camera but didn’t like the color/white balance. And since the Garmin camera only records jpg images it is difficult to modify the colors in post processing.
I thought there may be some colors at dawn and sunrise so set up the Garmin VIRB-360 camera about half an hour before sunrise. I also went out at sunrise with a Fuji X-T2 camera and 16 mm f/1.4 lens.
While bringing in the cameras from the previous nights star trail shoot, I noticed some clouds and colors developing at sunrise. I managed to get a few shots with my Leica CL camera before the colors faded. The prediction is more rain tonight and tomorrow. The county already sent out local flooding warnings again. Notice most of the leaves have fallen off the trees. Now to decide, rake & mow the leaves, or leave them in place to become better fertilizer.
