Autumn Backyard Nature in New Jersey.

Birds of the day viewed at the birdfeeder and in the backyard: Mourning Dove, Blue Jay, Black-capped Chickadee, House Finch, Dark-eyed Junco.

I am trying to figure out the problem with the following slideshow. (10-Decmber-2021 Update: PhotoShelter provided a fix to the slideshow problem).

Birds of the day. Individual images in the slideshow are available in my PhotoShelter Gallery.

Time-lapse Videos of the Day with Red Rover. (1) Completed assembly of the 4th Shelter Logic storage shed. The frame remained up overnight (no strong winds) prior to attaching the ground anchors. This one has a rounded roof, and we will see if it does better when the snow comes. (2) Assembled a Titan 3-Point Subsoiler Single Tine Ripper, then used it to pull out some old agricultural fabric.

Daily Electric Energy Used (65.8 kWh) from Sense. Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (10.7 kWh) from Sense and SolSystems. Cloudy. Geothermal HVAC heating the house. Deficit of 55.1 kWh.

This one has a rounded roof, and we will see if it does better when the snow comes. 1) Morning, assembling the frame. 2) Afternoon, back and front walls. Didn’t finish with the top or anchors as the sun started to go down. Just hope not too much wind overnight.

Time-lapse videos working outdoors and using Red Rover. 1) Switching front loader on Red Rover to pallet forks, filling Red Rover with diesel (5 gallons after 12 hours of use), moving the pallet of wood delivered by Home Depot. The pallet was too heavy for Red Rover to lift. I had to transfer four sheets of 4′ by 8′ of plywood to a different pallet, then move the pallet. The remaining eight sheets of 4′ by 8′ of plywood were transferred on Red Rover’s forks to the plywood pallet. The remaining 4″ by 4″ and 2″ by 4″ posts remained to be moved on another day. 2) Building Storage Logic (10′ x 10′) storage shed 2. This time was faster and easier than the first storage shed. Experience, and no wind. Still it took longer that the 2 hours for 2 people to assemble the shed…

Daily Electric Energy Used (57.7 kWh) from Sense. Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (28.3 kWh) from Sense and SolSystems. Mostly sunny. The Geothermal furnace is now on to heat the house. Indoor temperature set to 64° F. Deficit of 29.4 kWh.

Today I figured out how to attach a rear weight and tool box to the 3-point connection on the rear of Red Rover. It took a while to figure things out, and I can see I need to get a variety of pins to hold the connectors. Also, I couldn’t adjust the turnbuckle on the 3-point hitch stabilizer chains. The jam bolt was “jammed” too tight. Will probably need to take it off and put the turnbuckle onto a vice. Job for another day. Then moved the last of the deer fence pipes from the metal pallet.

Assembling the Shelter Logic “Shed in a Box” Storage Shed on a windy day. The first thing the hieroglyphic assembly instructions show is two people, and that it can be completed in 2 hours. By myself, it took a lot longer…
