Time-lapse side-show of a pink poppy opening. Even though this looks like it is happening in daylight, the poppy flowers start to open in the very early dawn. I set the camera ISO to auto and let it ride to the maximum. Individual images can be viewed here.
Time-Lapse video of a Poppy flower opening. I had to get up early (~ 5 AM) to catch this. Nikon D800 camera and 105 mm f/2.8 macro lens (ISO Auto, 105 mm, f/8, 1/125 sec) taking images every 6 seconds for about 90 minutes. I see another flower will probably open tomorrow, so I plan to try it again.
My first poppy flower opened in the rain this morning. Appropriate for Memorial Day. Image taken with a Fuji X-T1 camera and 100-400 mm OIS lens (ISO 200, 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/125 sec).
