Gone to See Norway 2007 Family Vacation. Day 2: Oslo.
This was the beginning of the extended family winter vacation in Norway. Our first full day was in Oslo. Some of the children in the group had never seen snow before. A long day with many things to see and do as well as adjust to the time difference.
Practice shot with a new Leica D-Lux 5 digital camera. Image taken in manual mode (ISO 80, 7.5 mm, f/4, 0.8 sec). The vignetting was added during post processing. If the focus is off, my eyes are still adjusting after being dilated for an eye exam.
Macro focus stacking study using Helicon Focus. This is a composite of 30 stacked image where the focus was adjusted near to far using Helicon Remote and then combined using Helicon Focus. The images were acquired using a Nikon D3x camera and 5o mm f/1.4G lens (ISO 100, f/1.4, 1.3 sec) and ambient light. The distance between nearest and farthest focus point was ~5 inches, and the camera was ~24 inches from the nearest focus point. The Helicon Focus settings used to process the images were mode B, radius 8, smoothing 4. Other settings increased the halo.
The Caretaker” A Henning Hand Carved Norwegian Troll.
One of the many trolls that takes care of my house. I never know where I will find him, typically avoiding doing any work. You can find more of his friends at the Henning site in Norway.
