Fairgrown Farm CSA Weekly Delivery Box #9.

This week the box contained the following:

Basil (Fairgrown Farm, Hopewell Township)
Fresh Garlic (Fairgrown Farm, Hopewell Township)
Kale (Fairgrown Farm, Hopewell Township)
Head Lettuce (Blue Moon Acres, Pennington)
Cucumbers (Cassaday Farms, Monroeville)
Cauliflower (Cassaday Farms, Monroeville)
Yellow Beans (Cassaday Farms, Monroeville)

The box was supplemented with an add on of eggs, fruit and mushrooms:

Eggs (Polnasek Farm, Hillsborough)
Blueberries (Rosedale Farms)
Golden Oyster Mushrooms, Blue Oyster Mushrooms, Pink Oyster, and Pioppino Mushrooms (Zell’s Farm)

Tuesday (13-April-2021) — New Jersey

Springtime Backyard Nature in New Jersey.

Nest and visitors to the patio birdfeeder: Mourning Dove, House Finch, Chipping Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, Northern Cardinal.

The first Tulip opened after the sun came out. Also, Daffodils, Dandelions, Forsythia, and Grape Hyacinth.

Daily Electric Energy Used (38.1 kWh) from Sense. Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (72.2 kWh) from Sense and SolSystems. The sun returned. A surplus of 34.1 kWh.

Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey

Last week I noticed something attached to the Cosmos stalk. I didn’t know what it was. Today, I found out that it was an egg sack as I came across a Praying Mantis laying her eggs.

Daily Electric Energy Used (64.8 kWh) from Sense and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (6.3 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. It rained most of the day so not much sun. Overall a net deficit of 58.5 kWh. Geothermal HVAC to heat the house (2.7 kWh), Hydroponics (22.6 kWh), Computers and Servers (21.7 kWh), Kitchen (3.4 kWh).

Weekly Electric Energy Used (410 kWh) from Sense and Weekly Solar Electric Energy Produced (192 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Overall a net deficit of 218 kWh.
