Elderhostel “Photography in the Southwest” Workshop Day 5. Flying Egyptian Goddess

Prior to departing Kelly Place B&B I saw this wooden model of a “Flying Egyptian Goddess” hanging from the ceiling of the activities lodge. I did a number of shots, trying to bounce the flash in a way to minimize shadows. I liked this one the best. Then a long drive back to Boulder.

Rocky Mountain National Park: “Winter Play Area” in Hidden Valley

Although the pass across Rocky Mountain National Park closes for the winter, much of the lower elevations in the park are kept open. It is only an hour drive from where I am working in Boulder, Colorado. A couple of images taken with a Nikon D300 camera and 35 mm f/2 lens at the “Hidden Valley Winter Play Area”.

Colorado Autumn Road Trip: Big Horn Ram Huddle.

I saw several Big Horn Rams along Colorado 14 while driving back to Boulder from Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge. Soon after I stopped and started taking pictures with a big lens, several other vehicles also stopped. Hard to believe, but one day later I was in Hawaii attending a workshop run by Thom Hogan.
