Although it was cloudy much of the day, the sky cleared early in the evening. Waxing Gibbous Moon, image taken with a Nikon D5 camera and 200-500 mm f/5.6 lens (hand-held).

Although the flowers are gone from the wildflower meadows, I do still have Marigold, Zinnia, Cosmos, and Coreopsis flowers appearing in the soft pots on the patio.

Now that it is getting cooler outside, the Stink Bugs are trying to get into the house. The screens on the open windows keep most out, but some keep trying to find the tiniest of openings.

Contact me if you are interested in a Time-lapse Video of the session at the Birdfeeders. My setup for the birdfeeder images is a Nikon D850 camera and 200 mm f/2 VR lens set to take one image every 5 seconds over a 5 hour period (~3600 images). The new time-lapse video format is 720p (1080 x 720 pixels) and 1 frame/second. The length of the video is about 1 hour in a 1 GB MP4 file. The previous time-lapse videos of the birdfeeders were at 12 frames/second, and to be honest were too fast to identify the birds.

Things seem to be aligned near the spring and autumn equinox that the clouds to the east at dawn light up with intense colors. High level smoke dust from the forest fires out west may also be contributing to the colorful displays this year. I’ve been checking early every morning, but the skies were clear. This morning it was different, so I ran out and disturbed the deer in the backyard to get this panorama (11415 x 4520 pixel = 38″ x 15″ print @ 300 dpi) .
