Day 5 and Counting

My Drobo disk-array is rebuilding after adding a new drive. Don’t know how long it will take. New images (including a meteor caught last night with two cameras) to follow. The down side to large storage solutions such as Drobo is the time required for backup and restore. Not sure if this will be hours or days!!!!

I did post some images on Google+ for the following themes: #SongBirdSaturday  #RuralSaturday  #SunsetSaturday  #SepiaSaturday  #SaturdayNightLight  #Caturday

For a list of all of the Daily Google+ Photography Themes

Storm Clouds over the Refinery in Sinclair Wyoming.

I left Salt Lake City, and continued my drive east on I-80. A lot of snow fell during the night, but the highway was open. It must have been bad the previous night since there were several tractor trailers off the road. Once I got into Wyoming, the highway got better. I took this image of a refinery while driving through Sinclair. Interesting historical note, this route is also known as the Lincoln Highway, which was the first transcontinental automobile road that went all the way across the United States. I used to live near New Jersey Route 27, which was also part of the Lincoln Highway in Edison New Jersey.

Winter Comes Early in Northern Nevada.

An early snow storm closed Tioga Pass, and I ended up having to find a different route home from the Nikonians ANPAT-8 in Yosemite National Park. I detoured north to Interstate 80, and crossed the Sierra Nevada at Donner Pass. As I moved east on I-80 I started catching up to the early winter storm. I took this image of Pilot Mountain in northern Nevada as the storm clouds were clearing. I caught up with the storm when I got to Salt Lake City, and spent the night.
