Backyard Springtime Nature in New Jersey — The migrating Robins have returned.

Backyard Springtime Nature in New Jersey.

Dark-eyed “Slate-colored” Junco hiding in the bushes. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V2 camera, FT1 adapter,and 28-300 mm VR lens (ISO 160, 300 mm, f/5.6, 1/200 sec).  The camera did a great job focusing on the birds eye in a dense field of distractions!

Squirrel Eating an Acorn in a Tree in My Front Yard. Image taken with a Nikon 1 V1 camera and 200 mm f/2 VR lens connected with a FT1 adapter (ISO 100, 200 mm, f/2.5, 1/800 sec). With the Nikon 1 sensor size, the field of view is equivalent to 540 mm on a 35 mm sensor.
