Gone to See Patagonia 2010/2011. Photography Workshop with Thom Hogan. Day 12: Calafate, Argentina to Estancia Lazo, Chile.
On the way from Argentina to Chile, we stopped at a sheep ranch (Estancia). We got to watch the sheep dogs manage a herd of sheep, then one of the sheep getting sheared.

Gone to See Patagonia 2010/2011. Photography Workshop with Thom Hogan. Day 12: Calafate, Argentina to Estancia Lazo, Chile.
This was a travel day, starting out in Argentina and ending up in Chile. For lunch we stopped at an Estancia (sheep ranch). I don’t think we crossed the border yet. We had a demonstration of the sheepdogs herding the sheep, and then one of the sheep getting sheared. That is where wool comes from. After lunch we proceeded to Hosteria Mirador del Payne on Estancia Lazo. A long drive.

Gone to See Iceland 2013: Photography Safari with Mike Hagen. Day 2: Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands).
We spent the day on the island of Vestmannaeyjar. Puffins, sheep, and landscapes. The main town on the island was nearly destroyed by volcanic activity in 1973.

The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side of the Fence. Sheep grazing on the summer pastures in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. I think the fence was to keep the sheep from the Puffin Nests. Image taken with a Nikon D4 camera and 80-400 mm VRII lens (ISO 800, 400 mm, f/9, 1/500 sec).
