We finally got rain, thunder and lighting starting at 03:00 this morning. Found my newest house pet when opening the garage for the contractor this morning. Most of my grass is dry, and really need the rain. Yesterday while driving back from a breakfast in Rahway I noticed most of the fields with corn or soybeans were all brown. I so much don’t miss doing the commute anymore. An hour and a half to drive 35 miles, even knowing the back roads. I guess schools have started and everyone is back from summer vacations.

This was the biggest spider I had ever seen in New Jersey. It was above my front door. I decided to go in the house via the back door to get a camera. Not as big as a tarantula, but close. Image taken with a Nikon D3 camera and 200 mm f/4 macro lens (ISO 220, 200 mm, f/16, 1/60 sec) and SB-900 flash.
