First day of spring. Purple Crocus flower blooming. This is almost a month later that the Crocuses bloomed for the last several years. Image taken with a Fuji X-T1 camera and Fuji 60 mm f/2.4 macro lens (ISO 250, 60 mm, f/16, 1/160 sec).
The spring flowers are having problems dealing with late winter snow and sleet. Although the snow is gone within a day, winter has not yet departed.
It is raining today. A couple of images from near the house taken with a Leica X1 camera. The first is some daffodils still in bloom (most are already done) and the other of wet holly leaves. In both cases these are the “out of the camera” jpg images.
We drove to Sarasota to visit Marie Selby Botanical Gardens to view the Orchid show. The gardens do not allow the use of tripods in the conservatory, but did allow me to use my walking stick as monopod to stabilize the camera while taking pictures. I tried to work quickly so not to block other visitors to the gardens. It was a target rich environment. After visiting the conservatory we spent time wandering around in the outdoor gardens. It was there I got an image of a crab spider having a fly for lunch.
