Doe (looks like she is expecting soon) inside the fenced in wildflower meadow. The fence needs to be repaired. I haven’t planted any wildflower seeds this year, so self-seeded from last year’s plants or local weeds. The tiny orange flowers are Siberian Wallflowers. I think the yellow ones are weeds. Daily birds include: Gray Catbird, pair of Brown-headed Cowbirds, Northern Cardinal, Chipping Sparrow, and Tufted Titmouse

A Doe left her very young Fawn in my backyard for daycare. Birds at the feeder today include Gray Catbird (likes apple), Brown-headed Cowbird, and Northern Cardinals

Fewer birds today — only a Black-capped Chickadee. While cooking dinner, I looked out the kitchen window and saw at least eight deer. At least they were on the correct side of the electric fence. The OIS (optical image stabilization) in the Fuji lens does a great job — these images were hand-held with the shutter speed between 1/20 to 1/45 second.
Deer walking outside the electric fence to a wildflower meadow. Images taken with a Fuji X-T2 camera and 100-400 mm OIS lens. Individual images in the slideshow are available in my PhotoShelter Gallery.
Daily Electric Energy Used (54.0 kWh) from Sense Home Energy Monitor and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (13.4 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Cloudy and rainy all day. A deficit of 40.6 kWh.
At or under the birdfeeder — a Chipping Sparrow in the morning and a female Northern Cardinal in the afternoon. I cleaned out the bird bath, and the solar-powered fountain is now running. It is supposed to freeze tonight so we will see if it is running again tomorrow. A pink tulip flower. The deer nibbled on the plant, but it still survived. The deer at the back of the yard are looking through the electric fence trying to decide if the green plants inside the fence are edible wildflowers or weeds that they don’t like.
Daily Electric Energy Used (61.1 kWh) from Sense Home Energy Monitor and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (54.3 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Lots of clouds. A deficit of 6.8 kWh.
Happy “shelter in place” Easter. Stay well. Carolina Wren and House Finch at the bird feeder today. Not getting much traffic at the bird feeders these days… A dozen deer in the backyard foraging on the new green grass. Looks like they are starting to lose their winter coats. At least six Tulips the the deer didn’t get are now blooming.

Weekly Electric Energy Used (390 kWh) from Sense Home Energy Monitor and Weekly Solar Electric Energy Produced (408 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. First week this year with a surplus!! of 18 kWh 18 kWh. It is getting warmer out and more hours of sunlight (when the clouds stay away).
