Backyard Late Winter Nature in New Jersey.
Images from a walkabout in my backyard after a morning rain shower. The deer look like it has been a long winter. These are the birds that spent the winter.

It has been a while since I have seen many deer. They are waiting for the grass and shrubs to get greener. I have seen evidence that they have been nibbling on my daffodils, my rhododendron, and my yucca plants. Several female deer (does) walked through my backyard this afternoon. One doe has an injury on her thigh (hunted, or car — but got away). She didn’t seem to be limping.
