Three types of birds at the bird feeder today. Chipping Sparrow, House Finch (both male and female), and Northern Cardinal (female).
Daily Electric Energy Used (51.4 kWh) from Sense Home Energy Monitor and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (35.4 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. Some sun with lots of clouds. A deficit of 16.0 kWh.
It warmed up a bit, and rained a lot last night (~2.7 inches, ~70 mm). The National Weather Service issued several local flooding warnings. The sun came out and the birds came back to the bird feeder. I just missed catching a Red Northern Cardinal which I haven’t seen recently.
Some birds at the bird feeder at dusk. Trying the new Nikon D850 camera out with a 600 mm f/4 VR lens and pushing the ISO as it was starting to get darker out. Some post processing noise reduction using Topaz Define. Chipping Sparrow, Northern Cardinals, and Blue Jays. The Blue Jay is a bit big for this bird feeder. Also, unlike the finches and cardinals it needs to take the sunflower seeds away from the feeder and find somewhere to break the seed open.
The Yucca and Prickly Pear flowers are in bloom. There are several new wildflowers (and I am not sure of the ID). I also am seeing more poppies (Red, Icelandic, and California). Individual images from the slide-shows are available here.
