Black-capped Chickadee, Dark-eyed Junco, and Marsh Wren at the bird feeder on a damp winter morning.
It snowed last night, but only about an inch. By afternoon, the snow melted and/or evaporated. A number of small birds (Dark-eyed Junco, Marsh Wren, Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse), and a Blue Jay visited the bird feeder. A Red-bellied Woodpecker chased the Blue Jay away. Later on a Squirrel got up onto the bird feeder to feast on some sunflower seeds.
Individual images in the slideshows can be viewed here.
I woke up at 03:00 (still trying to figure out what time zone I am in) and noticed the sky was pretty clear and the full moon was bright. I tried several cameras, and got the best image of the moon with the Nikon D810a camera and 600 mm f/4 VR lens. Later on during the day, more birds at the bird feeder.
Backyard Autumn Nature in New Jersey
A number of Black-capped Chickadee’s and Tufted “Black-crested” Titmouse (Titmice?) have descended on my backyard wildflower meadow to gouge on the sunflower seeds.
Walkabout looking for birds. Found a Black-capped Chickadee and a pair of Northern Cardinals.
