Tuesday (16-August-2022) — New Jersey

Summertime Nature in New Jersey.

Birds of the day viewed in my backyard: Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Downy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, House Finch, Common Grackle. Today, I didn’t see any Ruby-throated hummingbirds in the Zinnia patch, only at the birdfeeder.

Sunday (14-August-2022) — New Jersey

Summertime Nature in New Jersey.

Birds of the day viewed in my backyard: White-breasted Nuthatch, Song Sparrow. Note, I spent the morning using a brush mower to cut back the weeds and didn’t spend much time looking for birds. I only saw one Ruby-throated hummingbird, but wasn’t able to capture an image.

Saturday (13-August-2022) — New Jersey

Summertime Nature in New Jersey.

Birds of the day viewed in my backyard: Mourning Dove, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Turkey Vulture, Blue Jay, European Starling, Gray Catbird, House Finch, American Goldfinch, Common Grackle, Northern Cardinal. Several recently fledged House Finch were wagging their wings with their mouth open looking to be fed by a single male adult House Finch. A Common Grackle spent time drinking and cooling in the birdbath.
