We separated into four groups, and our group of eight rode one of the Park Service buses on the only road into the National Park. We stopped at Stony Hill Scenic Overlook to view Denali with some amazing lenticular clouds. We saw lots of animals (Dall Sheep, Red Fox, Grizzly Bear, Coyote) either on or near the road. Some so close, I had trouble focusing.

After the sun went down I noticed thunderstorm clouds with flashes of lightning passing in the distance to the south. The clouds were high enough to catch some sunlight. We need some rain, as my pond is getting low
Daily Electric Energy Used (50.5 kWh) from Sense and Daily Solar Electric Energy Produced (52.0 kWh) from SolSystems and Locus Energy. More clouds, and higher temperatures for a net surplus of only 1.5 kWh.

There were several Northern Gannets following the MV Explorer. I wanted to get an image of one crossing the full moon. I took lots of pictures, but only came close a few times. Then there was the issue of whether the moon, or the bird should be in focus.

In order to get from Haines to Anchorage by road in Alaska you have to travel the Haines Highway through British Columbia, and Yukon Territory in Canada. As you pass through the Canadian border, they check to make sure you are not transporting any guns or knives. I stopped along the road several times to get panoramic images of the late summer landscape. The first two in British Columbia (probably toward Tatshenshini-Alsek Park). The third one was along the southern shore of Kluane Lake in Yukon. I spent the night at a RV park in Burwash Landing further north along the lake.
