Springtime Nature in Colorado.

I spent the day at Rocky Mountain National Park. It was  early spring, and the upper elevations of the park had not opened yet due to snow. There were a number of birds and mammals looking for food. I finally identifed one of the birds from that day as a Grey-headed Junco. I also spent time working with a 24 mm f/3.5 PC-E lens to do some landscape images.

Indoor Springtime Nature in New Jersey.

I noticed that one of my indoor succulent plants was starting to bloom. It put out some long shoots with many small buds. I set up a camera to attempt a time-lapsed series of the little flower opening. As you can see in the time-lapse slide show, the flowers just barely open.

The water was still running heavy in the nearby Rock Brook. A tree had fallen into the stream and got caught by the bridge. The Dogwood trees were in bloom, and the Carpenter Bees were out looking to drill holes into the wood exterior of my house.  I’m not sure what type of tree or shrub it is where the leaves appear to be emerging from a pod.
