I am a scientist by training (Eckerd College, BSc; Caltech, Ph.D.). I worked for 27 years as a Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry developing processes to manufacture medicines for human and animal health. I now spend my time as a photographer and world traveler. My interests include the natural world, wildlife, landscapes, sky, and seascapes, travel, and astrophotography. I look for unique ways of viewing the world and presenting my images. I have traveled to over 55 countries in six continents, often on Semester at Sea voyages. While at home in New Jersey, I spend time on home renovation and expansion of a wildflower garden/meadow.

The Elderhostel “Photography in the Southwest” workshop was based at Kelly Place B&B just outside of Cortez Colorado. This is a great location in McElmo Canyon, quiet and remote. It borders Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. The following images of Petroglyphs and modern graffiti were taken at the Sand Island Petroglyphs Bureau of Land Management (BLM) site in Utah.

The Elderhostel/Road Scholar “Photography in the Southwest” workshop was based at Kelly Place a B&B just outside of Cortez Colorado. This is a great location in McElmo Canyon, quiet and remote. It borders Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. The following images were taken in and around Kelly Place during the second day of the workshop.

On the way from Boulder, Colorado to Kelly Place a B&B just outside of Cortez, Colorado I stopped for a few hours at Mesa Verde National Park. While at Mesa Verde, I met up with my father (Loren) and brother (Erik). We would be spending the next three days attending the Elderhostel/Road Scholar “Photography in the Southwest” workshop.
