Gone to See America 2006 Driving Tour. Day 2: Northern Peninsula of Michigan.
Miners Castle at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Image taken with a Nikon D200 camera and 80-400 mm VR lens (ISO 100, 85 mm, f/4.5, 1/750 sec). Apparently there was a 2nd pillar of rocks on top of the castle that collapsed in April that year.
I only had the camera a few days, and reading the Nikon manual didn’t help much. Unfortunately, I didn’t know better and only shot jpg images during my “Gone to See America 2009 Roadtrip”. Every now and then I surprised myself with an image that I really liked. And thus got hooked on digital photography.
