I am a scientist by training (Eckerd College, BSc; Caltech, Ph.D.). I worked for 27 years as a Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry developing processes to manufacture medicines for human and animal health. I now spend my time as a photographer and world traveler. My interests include the natural world, wildlife, landscapes, sky, and seascapes, travel, and astrophotography. I look for unique ways of viewing the world and presenting my images. I have traveled to over 55 countries in six continents, often on Semester at Sea voyages. While at home in New Jersey, I spend time on home renovation and expansion of a wildflower garden/meadow.

Gorgeous Animals! A very beautiful capture, +David Mathre !
+Sofie Løve Forsberg I have a love hate relationship with the deer. They are beautiful animals. The fawns are very curious and great subjects to photograph. The down side is there are too many. Their only natural predator is the automobile. I had to give up on my kitchen garden, and I am recovering from Lyme disease that I caught from the deer ticks.
+David Mathre Here there hardly any Deer or other WildLife left. Imagine that. Months and months goes by without seeing any. Here in Denmark the tics hide in the grass and on the bushes and jump out at you without any notice. Had a bad infection this spring due to the tick and didn't even have the beauty of the Deer to comfort me…
+Sofie Løve Forsberg Some evenings I have two dozen of these in my backyard. I also have rabbits and ground hogs. The foxes, raccoons, and possums were pretty much wiped out 20-25 years ago by rabies. There is also a black bear that kept tearing down my bird feeder last year, so I gave up on that.
