Five-Years Ago (01-January-2011) — Patagonia

Gone to See Patagonia 2010/2011. Photography Workshop with Thom Hogan. Day 6: Hosteria El Pilar, El Chalten, Laguna Torre, Parque Nacional Los Glaciaries.

On the previous day we drove from Hosteria Helsingfors to Hosteria El Pilar near the town of El Chalten. We stayed at this location for a couple of days. Early in the morning (before sunrise) we were rewarded with a magnificent view of Mount Fitzroy from right outside the hosteria. You need to view this panorama in full-screen mode. After picking up our guide in El Chalten, we hiked to Laguna Torre in Parque Nacional Los Glaciaries (Glacier National Park). During the hike we saw a female Magellanic Woodpecker. Once at Laguna Torre there was an impressive view of the Torre massif, the Adela range, Mount Solo and their respective glaciers.
