Gone to See Europe 2014. Day 54: Semester at Sea, Summer 2014 Semester Voyage. Baltic Sea Approaching Russia.
Time-Lapse Video of Noctilucent Clouds taken from the deck of the MV Explorer while traveling across the Baltic Sea. Images taken with a Nikon Df camera with a 24 mm f/3.5 PC-E lens and a Fuji XT1 camera with a 23 mm f/1.4 lens. Images processed with Capture One Pro, Photoshop CC, Premiere Pro CC, and After Effects CC. I used the warp filter in After Effects to stabilize the images taken on the deck of a moving ship.

I am a scientist by training (Eckerd College, BSc; Caltech, Ph.D.). I worked for 27 years as a Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry developing processes to manufacture medicines for human and animal health. I now spend my time as a photographer and world traveler. My interests include the natural world, wildlife, landscapes, sky, and seascapes, travel, and astrophotography. I look for unique ways of viewing the world and presenting my images. I have traveled to over 55 countries in six continents, often on Semester at Sea voyages. While at home in New Jersey, I spend time on home renovation and expansion of a wildflower garden/meadow.

You've been a busy boy since your return home. Good work as always. Did you do a couple of little pans in there?
+John Hockridge The ship was making a small course change giving the impression of a pan. The two cameras were running almost all night, and when I had to change the batteries so there was a small change in the camera position.
