Gentoo Penguin on a rock nest built with pebbles. Underneath is a chick that just hatched on New Year’s Day, and a second egg where the beak just appeared and is about to hatch. Good picture. I have been there. For me the Gentoo Penguin is a metaphor for the middle class human being who does what he has to do with undaunted faith, never questioning family, work, destiny, just gets it done every day, and loves his mate.
