Indoor Winter Nature in New Jersey — Brown Marmorated Stink Bug
The stink bugs keep coming into the house to escape the cold. This one was in the kitchen. Image taken with a Nikon Df camera and 105 mm f/2.8 VR macro lens (ISO 100, 105 mm, f/16, 1/60 sec) and ring-flash. Image converted to B&W with Capture One 7 Pro.

thanks for the process details; helps me learn. Great closeup of an insect that I've watched all my life.

wow! great detail, David!!
Stinkbug? Is that a real insect??
We can thank the Chinese for these nuisance bugs. They hibernate in the winter and like to get in our homes. I kill at least one a day.
+Michael Petras I hope that the little white object on its back is an egg of a parasite that will ultimately feast on the Stink Bug.
What's behind the stink bug is wat I want to know?
It stinks to high heaven
O YES
Stink Bugs do definitely exist.
Everything has it's place in society…
+Lori Cannon A glass of grapefruit juice. I find that the Stinkbugs seem to be attracted to Grapefruit. Previous image from 2008 https://plus.google.com/photos/+DavidMathre/albums/5816648467304385953/5816648886104255298?pid=5816648886104255298&oid=100158294387095221291
