Gone to See America 2014 Road Trip. Day 4: Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Tern in Flight at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. Image taken with a Nikon D3s camera and 80-400 mm VR lens (ISO 200, 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/1000 sec). I wonder if it is related to the Arctic Terns I saw in Iceland last year?

David, I am learning so much about birds from you. Awesome pictures. Aunt Mary
+John Roach Thanks, it was hard to catch these guys as they were moving so fast. I found that I needed to follow them until just before they dove, and fire off a burst. To focus, I used single or 9 point autofocus.
