NIK Silver Efex Pro 2. Nikonians “Yosemite in Winter a Season of Change” 2010 Workshop Day 1.
NIK just released version 2 of their Silver Efex Pro plugin for Photoshop and Lightroom. I have been using version 1 of Silver Efex since it was released for converting digital images to monochrome (black & white). The new version has the look and feel of NIK’s HDR plugin. The first image is the original taken in 2010 during a Nikonians Winter in Yosemite photography workshop (RAW image processed with Capture One Pro, and sharpend with Focus Magic in Photoshop CS5), the second is the B&W version converted with Silver Efex 2, and the third a color enhanced version converted using Topaz Define.

Nikonians Academy “Yosemite in Winter: A Season of Contrast” Workshop. Day 3.
Images from day 3 of the 2010 Nikonians Academy “Yosemite in Winter: A Season of Contrast” photography workshop with Michael Mariant. Most of the day it snowed and rained in the valley. At the end of the day, several of us were working on images in the recently renovated Curry Village Lounge. Someone came in and said go outside at look at Half Dome as it was being lit up with a sunset glow. The only camera I had with me was the D3x that had been acting up with electronic problems. I had minimal control of aperture and shutter speed, but still got some amazing images.
