Two-Years Ago (23-January-2016) — North Pacific Ocean

Gone to See the World. Semester at Sea Spring 2016 Voyage on the MV World Odyssey. Day 18: Crossing the Pacific Ocean.

I woke up to a dreary cloudy dawn sky. This was the final day crossing the North Pacific from Hawaii to Japan. You could tell we were getting closer to land as more seabirds were flying around the ship.

We must be getting close to land — more seabirds have shown up. I don’t know the ID of this one. Somewhere east of Japan crossing the Pacific Ocean.

Pair of Brown Boobies flying into a Sunburst. I guess they didn’t read Icarus. From the deck of the MV World Odyssey while crossing the Pacific Ocean. Later on I caught a sequence of images of a Brown Booby fishing, then going into a dive. At the end of the day we were fortunate to see a glimmer of a “Green Flash” as the sun fell into the sea.
