Four-Years Ago (15-August-2012) — New Jersey

Summertime Nature at the Sourland Mountain Preserve.

Kermit the Bullfrog in the pond at the Sourland Mountain Preserve. Images taken with a Nikon 1 V1 camera + FT1 adapter + 70-300 mm VR lens.

Five uncropped images at different focal lengths. Because of the smaller size sensor on the Nikon 1 camera the equivalent field of view (FOV) is 2.7x larger than with a full frame (35 mm)  sensor camera. The equivalent FOV for the following images are: 70 mm (~190 mm); 100 mm (~270 mm); 135 mm (~365 mm); 200 mm (~540 mm); 300 mm (~810 mm). I don’t think anyone could hand-hold a 800 mm lens on a 35 mm DSLR camera for very long, let alone go for a long hike.
