I worked for 27 years as a Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry developing processes to manufacture medicines for human and animal health. I now spend my time as a photographer and world traveler. +John Roach Thanks. I considered doing all of the images in monochrome, but decided to leave some in color. It was a small concentration camp compared with others but was a very moving visit. I just hope the EU nations come up with a solution to deal with all of the recent immigrants from Africa (most Muslim, some Christian). Don't want to see new concentration camps. "If you don't remember the past you are doomed to repeat it" Too bad some of the oil rich countries in Africa/Middle East aren't willing to step up.
Well said, +David Mathre. The selfishness, the hate, the bigotry, the financial fears, fear of what is different, etc., etc. seems to mark all societies. I fear most have not learned, and have no desire to be inclusive.
+John Roach During the downfall of the Eastern European part of the Soviet Union Iceland took on a lot of immigrants. Mostly Polish, and increased their population by nearly 10%. The population in Iceland at ~330K is less than most US cities. There are other countries in the EU that can do more. Germany has stepped up and others need to more. Maybe even the US but in an election season probable
Had never heard of this camp. Wonderful comments from you and John Roach on where we have been and could repeat. Will we ever wake up?
